Choosing the right professions to start earning gold in WOW
Gold, as you surely know, is an extremely important resource in World of Warcraft. You just get along without it. After all, without gold you will not be able to improve your character and purchase the equipment it needs to get stronger in the game. So, how do you earn the precious gold in World of Warcraft: the Wrath of the Lich King? This guide is written to help you do exactly that.
I want to address something before I move forward with this article: There are illegal websites out there selling gold. Buying from them will just get you banned from the game, so don’t do it. Let’s start of with a method that involves choosing a gathering profession for your WOW character. There’s plenty of gold to be had by choosing one of these progessions.
First let’s take a look at mining, Who needs the miners? Engineers and blacksmiths need the miners to provide them with the materials to create weapons and armors. To get some iron and mithril you can go to the Arathi Highlands. There is plenty of thorium and Arcane to be had at Eastern Plaguelands and the Burning Steppes.

Another profession that’s great for the gold seeker is skinning. Get to the Stranglethorn Vale and kill creatures and do quests. You will end up with lot’s of skins.
One more profession that can make you money is fishing. This especially holds true if you fish for pearls. You wil be able to sell a stack of black pearls for 10 gold a stack. Gold pearls, on the other hand, sell for 30 gold. That’s a nice sum right there!
What comes next? Herbalism Plagueblooms can be found at the Eastern and Western Plaguelands. It will yield very high profits for you. You can try finding ghost mushrooms in the Hinterlands. It will also get you a good amount of gold.
Here is a great tip for you: combine whatever gathering profession that you chose with the right service profession. It will enable you to create items from the materials that you gather along the way.
One great mix is herbalism and alchemy. It’s simple: you use herbalism to collect the herbs, and you use alchemy to create potions out of them.

2 more professions that go very well together are skinning and leatherworking. Gather the leather with the skinning profession, and make the armor with the leatherworking profession. You can save a lot of gold by doing that. You can also earn a nice sum of gold by selling the stuff that you make.
Now you see that there is no need to resort to buying gold “offline”. Try mastering the professions you chose for your character. Once you do, you will find that making gold is a piece of cake.
